New Leader, Same Commitment

Dear Friend,

I am excited to write to you on my first official day as OpenSky Policy Institute Executive Director! Since my hiring was announced, I have been contacted by many people who have expressed to me how much respect and admiration they have for OpenSky and the work this great organization does.

Lawmakers, journalists and many others rely on OpenSky for high-quality and easy-to-understand analysis of key fiscal issues. Going forward, we will continue to build on our reputation and become an even stronger resource for all Nebraskans.

The OpenSky community is truly remarkable for its diversity of thought and perspectives, and I am thrilled to work with you in writing the next chapter for this incredible organization. As we do so, three principles will guide us:

  • We will continue to be respectful, thoughtful, open and nonpartisan in how we approach our work and our analysis.
  • We will center the needs of all Nebraskans.
  • We will be open to trying new things to improve the quality, reach and effectiveness of our work.

The sky’s the limit for OpenSky and I am very excited to start building on the great work we’ve already done, so together, we can reach new heights as an organization. In the spirit of continuing OpenSky’s tremendous momentum, I’d ask you today to make a tax deductible donation to OpenSky. Supporters like you are the reason we are where we are today and the reason we will be an even stronger organization in the future!

Again, I am so excited to be in contact with you and to get started working with our amazing team. You will hear from us again very soon!

Sincerely,

Rebecca Firestone
Executive Director
